Event: New Restaurants in London
Location: Various venues
A number of new restaurants are opening in London this autumn, a good opportunity to experience the capital’s latest eating options. Here is a selection:
Kitchen Table, W1 – a 19-seat fine dining restaurant, with customers seated at a horseshoe-shaped bar where they can watch the chefs at work. The restaurant on Charlotte Street is behind Bubbledogs, a hot dog and champagne bar, and both are run by James Knappett, former head chef at Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley.
Bo London, W1 – Chef Alvin Leung of two-Michelin starred Bo Innovation in Hong Kong is opening what he describes as ‘X-treme Chinese cuisine’ restaurant in Mayfair in November 2012.
Colbert, SW1 – a Parisian-style brasserie on a key site in Sloane Square in Chelsea. The restaurant/café offers all day dining from breakfast to dinner, from the owners of The Wolseley.
The Asian Brasserie by Novikov, SW1 – all day European and Asian brasserie in Knightsbridge opening in November. This is the second London restaurant for Russian owner Arkady Novikov, who owns Novikov in Mayfair.
Others include the Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack, W1, (previously a pop-up in Hackney), Peruvian fusion restaurant Coya, W1 in Piccadilly, which will have its own members’ bar; Japanese restaurants Wabi, WC2, from former Nobu head chef Scott Hallsworth; and Okku, an outpost of Dubai-based restaurant in Mayfair; also a branch of the New York brasserie Balthazar, WC2 in Covent Garden. Lastly if you’re visiting the Tower of London, next door is The Perkin Reveller, EC3, serving contemporary British food, tea and cake etc.
