Event: Hello My Name is Paul Smith
Location: Design Museum, SE1
From a tiny shop in Nottingham in 1970 to a global fashion brand famous for its contemporary tailoring, and now an exhibition in his honour at London’s Design Museum, Paul Smith has come a long way.
Hello My Name is Paul Smith at the Design Museum charts the rise of the quintessential British menswear designer over 40 years in the fashion industry.
The exhibition is a showcase for Smith’s mens’ and womenswear and the many other items he has designed over the years, showing the brand’s evolution since the 1970s.
There is also a recreation of Smith’s office, including the many curious objects sent to him by fans from around the world. Originally due to close in March, the exhibition has been extended to mid June due to popular demand.
Also on at the Design Museum, Designs of the Year 2014 (26th March to 25th August), showcasing the best innovations in architecture, digital, fashion, furniture, graphic, product and transport design.
