Naomi in pin striped suite in an atelier with clothes around her

[Naomi] is recognised worldwide as a supermodel, activist, philanthropist, and creative collaborator, making her one of the most prolific and influential figures in contemporary culture. We’re delighted to be working with Naomi Campbell on this project and to celebrate her career with our audiences.

A new cover star

Following hot on the heels of its blockbuster exploration of Coco Chanel, the V&A London celebrates the life, career and clothes of fashion icon, Naomi Campbell. Bringing together photography, commentary and around 100 signature looks, this first-of-its-kind fashion exhibition will showcase Campbell’s inimitable style and impact across four decades, and counting.

Contemporary culture, captured

Campbell was first scouted in Covent Garden at just 15, and in only three years, she was making history as the first black model to grace the cover of Paris Vogue. Alongside the likes of Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer, Campbell was one of the original supermodels of the 1990s, walking for all the world’s finest couturiers.

For its landmark exhibition, the V&A has curated a glittering collection from leading designers – and Campbell’s own wardrobe – with pieces from Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier, Virgil Abloh, Vivienne Westwood and more. As the face of countless ad campaigns, and muse for leading photographers, images here come from the archives of Steven Meisel and Tim Walker.

A platform for change

Looking beyond her work in fashion, NAOMI also highlights the model’s activism and leadership. Campbell has long campaigned for social change and diversity – on the catwalk and beyond – as well as founding initiatives to encourage the next generation of creative talent.
