Casual, yet impossibly chic, natural tones and soft curves bring café culture to The Berkeley, creating the perfect space for an informal meeting or impromptu get-together.

Every element is beautifully crafted. From the sleek surrounds, designed by French interior designer, Rémi Tessier, to the menus – as teas, tisanes and fine wines are accompanied by signature plates from dawn until dusk.

This is also the setting for a curated collection of Cedric Grolet’s patisserie, from a ‘petit déjeuner’ of delicately layered viennoiserie, to signature desserts that are individual works of edible art. And when the clock strikes afternoon tea, it’s time for Goûtea , Grolet's fusion of goûter (the long-standing French tradition of sweet snacking) and the best of British ritual.

Goûtea X Financial Times x Laurent-Perrier Héritage Menu

A showcase of pâtisserie elegance, Goûtea fuses the French tradition of sweet snacking and the best-of-British afternoon tea. For autumn, expect in-miniature creations of the season’s signatures. This menu of all things bold and beautiful includes the fairytale-like green apple filled with crème fraîche ganache and dill-laced fruit – as well as a cocoa-rich coffee ‘Flower’, where silky crémeux petals give way to crisp praline. From savoury to sweet, course by course it’s a picture-perfect collection.

From 1 October to 30 November, in partnership with Laurent Perrier and the Financial Times, indulge in a glass of the prestigious Laurent-Perrier Héritage as the perfect accompaniment to your Goûtea experience.

For a deliciously different start to the day, stop by The Berkeley Café for Cedric Grolet's spin on breakfast. Opt for a curated selection of signatures, including petite viennoiserie, an exquisite Waffle Flower or slice of French toast, followed by fresh fruit perfection. Or go à la carte for just-baked croissants and daily specials, accompanied by a get-up-and-go juice, coffee, tea – or glass of ice-cold champagne for extra indulgence.
